Renaissance Gate
As one of the assignments for the Italian
Renaissance Architecture course I designed and constructed a model of a hypothetical
city gate that could have been designed in 1500. My model was made to resemble
the beautiful models that were created by architects, at that time, to show
their designs to their clients. My ambition was not only to achieve a historical
accuracy of the design but also to attain the old appearance of these 500
year old models including the old patina and the little holes made by wood
eating bugs that lived in these models for centuries.
