The population in Cambodia is visibly young with over 35% of the population forming the age bracket 0-14. We met children everywhere we went, many do not go to school and visit the tourist attractions or simply walk the streets trying to make money any way that they can. Some of those whom we met were not necessarily poor for Cambodian standards. It is very sad to see those who are evidently forced to work the streets by there parents and will take anything they gather back home to Mom or Dad. Most children continue to smile, but there is definitely something out of the ordinary, something not child-like, in the eyes of those who seem to be losing their innocence on the streets.
